Railway Budget -Wifi ?

The new railway budget is out and the whole country seems to be in a jolly mood , well that is what the government thinks . Like every other Railway Minister Mr. Pawan Bansal too has come up with new schemes and promises .Some promises seem promising while others were just meant to satisfy the readers . Free Wi-Fi was one of the highlights of the budget . Mr.Bansal announced that free wifi services will be available in few special trains soon. Who cares about the filthy toilet or the unhygienic food when you are being offered free wifi services with no guarantee of network !

With God's grace there is no hike in the fares and the common man can still afford to travel in the trains though travelling in AC 1 might seem like a dream . Going to my native place was something i looked forward to in my childhood days because i got to travel in train . Peeping out of the windows was my favorite hobby and trust me flights can't beat that !

I really appreciate Mr. Bansal's youthful idea of introducing wifi yet i couldn't suppress my urge to ask Mr. Bansal , the man behind this idea the following questions
1. How much speed will it offer ?
2. Taking into account India's geographic and demographic condition won't there be a network problem ?
3.Will every compartment offer sockets to recharge  phones or laptops ?
4. Is the government compromising with cleanliness and safety by introducing wifi ?

and last but not the least , WHY WI-FI ?

I hope Mr. Bansal is listening !

I agree that the  services provided by Indian railways is not as per foreign railways and the government is coming up with new techniques to bridge the gap but  little does it realize that the gap is huge and Mr. Bansal  must not hasten . Urgency will lead to carelessness which in turn will  lead to turmoil .

Anurag Takur described the budget as “The Rae-Bareli Railway Budget" .Well I am nobody to comment on his statement or justify his statement yet i couldn't cease myself from thinking .  Should Dinesh Trivedi have resigned ?  Well the "aam janta" isn't supposed to answer , therefore let us just pay the harsh fares of railways and croon  'gaadi bula rahi hai seeti bajaa rahi hai' .....

Story of an expressionless face

Walking on the busy road seemed like a daily routine
similar stones whisking , bringing me closer to my dream
loneliness of my life kills me every moment
making me realize that i am nothing but a dormant

memories of childhood prick me every second
cursing my urge to become an independent
celestial bodies in the sky remind me of my failure
a failed life and a lost lost love seemed severe

how much do i wish to rewind my life
to whisk away from the daily doses of crime
fly with dear butterflies , go deep into the sea
but dear 'o' that will only remain a dream

the tussle between heart and mind took away my only belonging
all i could do was sigh and consider myself less deserving
Why did i ever choose a path with no destination ?
with little choice between life and death resulting into loads of frustration

Thanks to my thankless life
all i am left with is a job in a factory and dreams to drive !

Afzal Guru - guilty ?

Time and again Religion instead of propagating unity has been dividing people leading to numerous riots and debates . Afzal Guru's execution has lead to a national debate . A country which unlike other states was built on diversity and equality is now struggling for maintaining peace and tranquility . There was a time when Hindus and Muslims were considered brothers of different mothers but the surge of divide and rule created an insurgency and lead to the formation of two different worlds - Pakistan and India . The former is based on faith while the later managed to blend both faith and diversity .

Omar Abdullah has raised the issue of Kashmiri Muslims being discriminated . He in his argument questioned Indian Government's apprehension in rejecting mercy petitions of people accused of heinous crimes including assassination of Rajiv Gandhi and Punjab chief minister Beant Singh.

I agree that Afzal Guru is guilty but at the same time it is necessary to get to the roots of the crime. How can a person who had just completed the first year of his MBBS get into terrorism ? The simple answer would be money and the urge to see Kashmir independent . Number of people are brainwashed everyday in the name of Jihad . They are taken to Pakistan and trained only to be sent back to ruin their mother land .

Oh dear lord i ask for some peace

for little honey and less grease

men whom i consider my bother are dying of fear

hatred prevailing , replacing words with spear

Saga of RSS and Modi

RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh)  has always managed to surprise me . It is once again in news not for its deeds but for its views on Prime ministerial nomination . The world is aware of RSS love-hate relationship with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi , which has only deepened with time . Neither RSS nor Modi have ever intended to make their relationship official yet time and again we see reports of Modi getting cozy with RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat or members of RSS slamming Modi for his style of functioning .

Emotional Trauma

Former BJP President Nithin Gadkari almost managed to break them apart but a common tie between them managed to save their relationship - the BJP . The ‘Panchjanya’ statement by Kamal Sandesh literally brought their relationship under strain yet Modi managed to slip away.  RSS veteran MG Vaidya blamed Modi for masterminding attacks on a truthful leader like Nithin Gadkari . Their emotional roller-coaster ride had a lot of ups and downs yet they managed to stay attached to the string .

 Forever !

Their saga might not be as interesting as  Twilight but it has the tendency to gain people's sympathy . Though Mohan Bhagwat deterred from giving a proper statement , he hinted at support to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the Prime Ministerial candidate of the BJP . This act is an indication of loyalty which hardly exists in today's generation . No matter what opinion you have of their relationship , whether you  hate it or you love it but you can't ignore it .

Tadap

tadap

Hai khaamosh yeh palkhe , phir yeh kaisi kasak

bejaan dil ko hai najaane kiski tadap

kie tune hum par naa jaane kitne hi shaan-e-julam

seh gae tere lie hum duniya ke saare gum-o-sitam

phir kyun kaafir ki tarah tere intizaar mein khade hai hum

guzre Shehar -e- Dil ki khaamoshiyo mein kahi doobe hai hum

chasm-e-tar tere ek nigaah ko hai taras rahi

bewafaai ke shaamiyane mein kyun hoon mai jal rahi

kaash bhoola pate hum us raat ki voh chaandani

chod aate vasl mein bitaae voh lamhe sabhi

par yeh kambakht dil hokar beqraar tujhe hi hai pukarta

yeh na jaane ki tu kisi aur ko hai chaahta

Pragaash- We Quit

Once again freedom has been chocked to death with Jammu and Kashmir's first girls band 'Pragaash' deciding to call it quits after fatwa was issued against them . The band consists of three class 10 girls. While issuing a fatwa , the Grand mufti called for women to wear a veil at all times . All these years Indian women have struggled to be recognized but all in vain  . Still girls are asked to throw their talent in trash as their voice , open hair and revealing cloths might invite men to rape them .

According to the Grand mufti , public performances by women were UN-islamic and obscene . Earlier too the rock band had received threats from extremists following which they decided to give up live performances .The grand Mufti suggested that the girls must limit their talents to their homes and not perform in public . "There would be no difference between our women and film actresses" , he said .

Omar Abdullah , Chief minister of Jammu & Kashmir reacted strongly , saying , he was with the girls . The opposition People's Democratic Party too backed the girls and demanded protection for the them . Reacting to Opposition's demands Omar Abdullah promised to provide the three girls with full security .

If it can happen in France , then why not India . Why is that girls are being prevented from pursuing careers of their choice , forced to cover themselves from head to toe , asked not to let their hair open . Whether it is Iran , Iraq , Afghanistan or India , Muslim girls have same story to say. When will they understand that Islam is a pure religion which does not sanction threatening people .

President signs Ordinance on sexual violence

It seems like a breaking news , well it is a breaking news . President of India signed the ordinance on sexual violence . Pranab Mukherjee today gave his concurrence to go ahead with anti-rape law ordinance so as to put check on the crime against women . The President has given his assent to the Criminal Law (Amendment) Ordinance 2013

The ordinance is based on Justice Verma report . The report consists of  630 pages demanding amendments in the Indian Panel Code and introduction of new offenses . The ordinance comes at the backdrop of brutal rape case that occurred in Delhi in December 2012 .

The ordinance which is largely based on Justice Verma report lacks teeth to fight sexual crimes against women .  According to the ordinance the minimum punishment will be 20 years in jail which can be extended to the natural life of the convict or death.  The ordinance went a step ahead by providing capital punishment in the cases where rape leads to death of the victim or leave her in a deteriorated state . The women's groups have planned a protest at Jantar Mantar on Monday against the ordinance.

Kadal - an art

What happens when two superheroes get together ? They create history . Kadal too will do the same . Kadal is a creative framework of two enthralling personalities - Director Mani Ratnam and Music composer A R Rehman . Kadal is about the fisherman from Tamilnadu who gets shot by the Srilankan Navy. The plot if intertwined by a romantic love story. The film is expected to hit the screens in the first week of February 2013.

Gautham , the son of actor Karthik is debuting with Kadal and so is Thulasi , the daughter of actress Radha. The Kadal album has four tracks featuring the voices of A.R.Rahman, Aaryan Dinesh Kanagaratnam, Abhay Jodhpurkar, Chinmayi, Haricharan Seshadri, Harini, Shakthisree Gopalan, Sid Sriram, Tanvi Shah and Vijay Yesudas.

"Chithirai Nela" by Vijay Yesuda is a refreshing number with emotional lyrics and lively vocal . A R Rehman has lent his voice for two tracks . "Elay keechan" , crooned by A R Rehman has traces of the original soundtrack from Hollywood movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou".  Rehman's mythical voice with an acoustic guitar at the background sets the mood of the song .

"Nenjukkule" , having been released much before the official audio launch of the film has caught everybody's attention . Shakthisree Gopalan's stunning voice has made it popular among non- Tamilians ."Magudi magudi" is an energetic and a racy track with a few dialogues to make it more serious and catchy while "Anbin vaasale" crooned by Haricharan Seshadri is a track with credo feel .

Kadal is not just another movie but an art which promises to break many records .
