It isn't about Modi v/s Islam anymore

“We can't be secular till there is politics because it is a religion that hates every other religion...” . Guided by beliefs and morality, India has become a nation where secularism is looked upon with apathy .With various political parties establishing their definition of secularism , the description of the word becomes even more pivotal. Politicians aren't hesitating in acquiring the kind of  charisma which only Gods dared to posses till today . As religion perpetrates into the well of election , Politics becomes more dirtier and dangerous. 

While the entire country is confounded in Modi oriented debates, one barely notices the parallelity between two major Islamic leaders , Asaduddin Owaisi and Mehmood Madani. While the former is the Presidnet of  All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) the latter is the general secretary of Jamiat Ulema-I-Hind, an organization existing since 1919. Known for their dubitable and outright annotation, they have made their interest in Modi quite clear. Critisizing the 'secular parties' for suffusing fear among Muslims about Modi for gaining votes , Madani's ideas about the BJP  prime ministerial candidate Modi seems quite clear . Asad on the other hand has never hidden his feelings for Modi . Often referring to him as 'Mozi', meaning verbatim,  he also signed the US Visa Rejection Policy Petition. 


Not very famous among the Muslim minority for his role in the Godhra riots , Narendra Modi has been experimenting with various propositions to woo them. Kalavati did for Modi what Hasiba Amin did to Rahul Gandhi, the latter's strategy gaining more ridicules than applauds. Modi's failure to serve Jassuben as an arrow for attacking Congress coerced the parent party BJP to subscribe for 'secular' strategies. From organizing conclaves for rich Muslim businessmen to distributing skull caps and burqas for attending Modi's rally , BJP has used all the sashtras signifying the secular nature of their candidate. With two major leaders of the Muslim community pitted aganinst each other , the accomplishment of BJP's agenda seems quite evident. 


Controlling the largest seminary in Asia , Deoband , Jamiat Ulema-I-Hind enjoys enormous political support among both minority and majority. With over 125 lakh active members , the organization has huge influence over people. While Madani has shunned reports of him endorsing Modi , his stating of facts on behalf of Modi hasn't gone down well with the majority of the Muslim population. Not one of those to be wooed by promises , Asad Owaisi is a man with his foot in his mouth . Popular among the Hyderabadi Muslims , Asad Owaisi has never hidden his dislike for Modi. Considering endorsement of Modi as a sign of betrayal of Allah , he went as far as calling Salman Khan 'harami' for flying kite with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

Secularism

It isn't just Owaisi , Zahid Ali Khan , editor of Siyasat and politburo member of Telugu Desam Party had earlier expressed his discontent towards the party president Chandrababu Naidu for shaking hands with Modi . While the whole nation is embroiled in 'who will become the PM' debate , the Muslim population is in a dilemma over who to follow . The underbelly of India politics has many such incidents to its credit , thanks to our politicians who have made religion a trump cart to woo voters . As the nation awaits BJP to come up with its ultimate 'sashtra' , seculars are going to have a hard time keeping their ideologies intact.

It isn’t about Science v/s Religion anymore

 “What the mind doesn’t understand, it worships or fears.”   An alibi to avoid bad omens obligate men to experiment , not just with faith but life too .  The provenience of these inspections is fear , an unpleasant emotion caused by beliefs yielding to pain or threat which  for decades has held the human race in abeyance , perforating them to practice things that otherwise would be inappropriate . 

In the backdrop of Maharashtra Assembly passing the Anti-Black Magic Bill , the question over its feasibility and variableness comes into picture . Revised and amended more than 20 times since 2005 , the bill aims at bringing social awakening and awareness in society . As an ordinance passed on 21 August 2013 , it did manage to bring cognizance  but as a whole  remained a mere ordinance governing people rather than protecting them . 

Introduced in 2003 as Maharashtra Eradication of Black Magic, Evil and Aghori Practices Bill , the bill saw anti-superstition activist and the founder of  Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti ( MANS) Narendra Dhabolkar losing his life to an age old battle against black magic . Unlike its name , the clause defining the bill has a lot to its reference . The concern over its praxis to harm people belonging to a particular religion has lead to confrontation and opposition by the BJP , the  Shiv Sena and other religious organizations on various occasions. Touted as ‘redundant’ and influenced by ‘foreign ideas’ the bill saw a massive protest , not just in favour of the bill but also in its opposition .

Inspired by Anti- Black Magic ordinance , The Karnataka government proposed  Karnataka Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and Other Inhuman Evil and Gory Practices and Black magic Bill which unlike the former  would have no ambiguities in its legalization .  Taking into account the brutal killings of witchcraft practitioners and cut-throats , the Maghalaya government too has contemplated an ‘anti -superstition bill’ . While the state governments are doing their bit by advocating laws , the corporation between the police and the public and mass awareness  is crucial for their implementation . 

“If you believed in Christianity or Islam it was called 'faith', but if you believed in astrology or Friday the thirteenth it was Superstition!” – Was Jostein Gaarder right ? While demands of law and morality have escalated, the probability to reflect more deeply into the depths of faith have diminished . The thin line between faith and atheism has blurred , confusing people , sending mixed moral messages .  Inspite of Anti-witchcraft bill being legalized in Jharkhand , cases of deaths due to witchcraft have raised over decades , questioning the credibility of these laws backed by various IPC sections . 

Whether China or India , our blind faith in power of law have failed us all the time . As a country entrenched in religion and culture , the battle with self to adhere to the customs by blindly following beliefs established by the former or to fight lest you be withdrawn of your rights , the possibility of laws functioning is minimal . As Johann Wolfgang puts in, “superstition is the poetry of life” , It is no longer about ‘Science vs religion’ but ‘mind vs soul .’

Has twitter replaced the Parliament ?

We all have witnessed politicians fighting , quarreling and  throwing shoes at each other in the parliament but the current scenario of social networking site becoming a cause of relief for the Lok Sabha Speaker seems quite shocking . With eminent leaders of political parties shooting tweets against each other , twitter has now become the new parliament . The only difference between the old and the new parliament is that the latter has greater transparency while the former shows transparency only when its esteemed members are caught watching porn movies and barging into each others personal territories .



The Congress and the BJP entered into a series of words after the latter demanded the dismissal of the Uttarakhand government for not handling the disaster properly . Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tiwari in his bid to save Congress tweeted "H'onble LOP's have mindspace to critique govt proposals on CBI autonomy that are yet to be placed before SC but no time to visit Uttrakhand." You can accuse me of dragging the tweet further but i am helpless . I am unaware of the abbreviation LOP's and that is why i have decided to give the abbreviation my own meaning - 'Lok Sabha Opponents' . It might sound odd but it fits the bill accurately . I really appreciate Manish Tewari's strike to avenge his party's ignominy but little did he realize that making such statements requires accurate knowledge about the subject. Poor Manish didn't bother to heed to my advice and thus suffered shame at the hands of BJP leader Sushma Swaraj . Sushma Swaraj hit back at Manesh Tiwari saying that it was Home Minsiter Sushil Kumar Shinde who had asked 'dignitaries' to stay away as it would hamper rescue operations. Going a step further she even acknowledged her contribution by saying that it was she who made Congress realize the "scale of tragedy". 



While every tweet managed to make an impact , the one by the new media cell appointed by the Congress party stole the show . It said "@SushmaSwarajbjp Pyre of many Victims of this Natural Calamity still warm. First BJP tried to take credit of evacuating 15000 in a day! 1/2 Instead of helping in relief works in U'khand, don't try to use this calamity as a Political Opportunity! #NoPoliticsOverCalamity." No politics over calamity - a line mouthed by every political party and not followed by any . While Congress chose to play safe with "No politics over calamity" Sushma Swaraj launched an attack on the government "What has your state Government done ? Nothing. The living are starving. The dead are being robbed. And you are patting you. Those who cannot govern in crisis do not deserve to be in the Government even for a day" she tweeted angrily.Though Congress has my hearty sympathies i cannot deny the reason behind Shushma Swaraj's anger . The clip of sadhus robbing dead people uncovers a dangerous state of human emotion . People call it ruthlessness , devilish but has anybody thought what made them perform such an inhuman act ? Sushmaji When the living do not have anything to eat , they will obviously resort to robbery and what better than robbing a dead person . My words might sound harsh but so is the reality . As rescue operations come to an end , the tweeter battle commences .

Who's playing politics ? | Uttarakhand Flood

"There should be no politics in relief work " . Almost every politician has mouthed the aforementioned words on the mention of Uttarakhand tragedy but ironically BJP and Congress have left  no stones unturned in attacking each other . While the former is accusing the later for blasting its minister , the later has its own concern . 

 

While the defense forces are struggling to rescue the stranded pilgrims  inspite of the unfavorable conditions , politicians are busy playing their blame game . Gujrat Chief Minister carried out an ariel survey in the flood effected areas of the state and claims of having rescued 15,000 Gujuratis from Uttarakhand . Mr.Narendra Modi , we agree that you are the second Iron Man of India and can do anything but please sir , 15,000 is a lot . I agree that there is a lot of pressure on you to present yourself as an ideal BJP Prime ministerial candidate but such statements can only diminish your chances and undermine your value . We respect your feeling and also sympathise with your sympathies but cannot accept such blank lies . 

Photo-op ?

Now coming to ruling party Congress , Digvijay Singh said that unlike Narendra Modi , Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi had not gone to Uttarakhand for photo-op but to help them . What was Rahul Gandhi doing till now , enjoying his holiday when a daughter of our mother land was suffering . Ofcourse you would rue my question by mentioning feku and if i am not wrong you mentioned lady finger in one of your interviews to a national channel on the long list of lies Narendra Modi has . Sir Narendra Modi might have poor general knowledge but that doesn't specifies that Congress is clean and pure . Going by whatever you said , i really appreciate your request to other Chief Ministers to avoid visiting Uttarakhand as it would hamper the rescue work . I hope the request is not limited to NDA leaders .

Our politicians will continue to be who they are but our defense force deserves a big salute . The recent crash of an Indian Air Force Helicopter engaged into rescue efforts in flood hit Uttarakhand did not deter our Indian Force to resume their activities . While our jawans continue fighting for our people , politicians are busy debating on news channels .

End of an age old saga

Dark clouds prevailed over Bihar as 17 year old relationship of BJP and JD-U came to a radical end . Well known for its love-hate relationship , the alliance had been under sheer scrutiny for years. Unaffected by the biggest of challenges , the couple recently broke up because of a man who currently holds a very crucial position in the parent party - The BJP  .

Elevation of Narendra Modi as BJP campaign chief caused tremors in the party which soon resulted into an earthquake . Modi's acclivity followed by Advani's act of resignation made the ambiguities in Nitish's mind obvious . The dramatic resignation by senior party leader of NDA , Advani rooted deep root dissension within the party , revealing the weakest point of NDA . Modi , a man known for his stereotypical humour and foot-in-mouth disease unanimously managed to end the saga of the BJP-JDU , an alliance which acted as an obstruction in the process of him becoming the next BJP Prime Ministerial candidate .

The end of the BJP-JDU saga leads to the commencement of another interesting saga - 'saga of the Second Iron Man Of India' . While Iron Man's 3 verdict has already been rendered , Naredra Modi is yet to declare himself the only superhero of India . The emerging superhero might not wear an iron suit or have blue eyes but possesses powers much mightier then Congressi superheroes . Deemed as a lion , a messiah , he turned out to be the cause of fidelity .

Whether it was a matter of insecurity or comm
unalism , the curtains over 17 year old BJP-JDU relationship has certainly crippled NDA . With general elections approaching ,  NDA will soon have to think of a new layout  . While Modi continues to be BJP's mascot , the possibility of a third front might be a cause of concern for the party . The UPA on the other hand seems to be in a jolly mood as it sees its opposition breaking apart . With both the parties sharing similar story of betrayal  , UPA being deserted by TMC and NDA by JD-U , the former having outside support of two major regional parties , SP and BSP has major chances of outweighing the latter .

Did RSS played the spoilsport for NDA ? The implication in the resignation drama has a crucial RSS link . Though Rajnath denied any RSS involvement in the drama , Advani's anger against Rajnath was largely based on unanimous activities of some party leaders including Suresh Soni and his protegee Ram Lal, who ensured that Modi was anointed despite Advani’s reservations. The involvement of RSS brings another saga into picture - 'The Saga of RSS-Modi ' . The world is aware of RSS's love for Modi , which , with time has only deepened . The saga might not be interesting as Twilight but surely has the tendency to gain people's sympathy . Loyalty , a feature which sets apart BJP-JDU relationship from RSS-Modi relationship and the reason behind the former's break up . 

With the estranged lovers searching for a new relationship , i.e ,  Nitish Kumar , Naveen Patnaik and Mamta Banerjee opting for a third front scenario , BJP has a lot to worry about . A key aide of Rajnath before BJP-JDU break up  said, “Look at the pressure we face from the cadres. You don’t run a party or a government just with allies, you also need to galvanise your cadres. What signal would we have sent by not conceding to their demand. There could have been a rebellion within.” Though JD-U has left , the problems within the party hasn't diminished ,thanks to the ongoing rift between Advai and Modi . The BJP is divided into two groups - 'Advani supporters' and 'Modi supports' , both the groups making their hatred for each other obvious . Minor hiccups have now become a cause of indigestion and if not neutralized soon , it might lead to serious digestion problems . 

Saddened by the unfortunate walking out of JD-U from NDA , Rajnath said " We always treated JD-U as a younger brother and our relationship of 17 years was not a political but but an emotional one . It was never made under pressure " . While Rajnath's emotional about the end of the coalition , BJP and JDU continue to play the blame game . Rajnath Singh couldn't tolerate Nitish attacking his new man by accusing him of being communal and blasted the jD-U . By withdrawing from the alliance , JD-U has weakened BJP's fight against Congress. "Have i committed a crime by appointing Modi poll panel chief " said an emotional Rajnath Singh .

“Like some wines our love could neither mature nor travel.” Like many other serious relationships  , the BJP-jD(U) came to a saddening end . ."I don't think Narendra Modi will be limited to Gujrat for a long time , he will soon spread his influence to other states" , a statement given by Nitish kumar 10 years ago gives an insight into the world of politics where nothing is stable . Nitish kumar , in his haste to identify himself as a neutral leader ended 17 year old coalition ,giving a serious jolt to NDA  . With NDA going for the 2014 general elections with three main constituencies -BJP,Shiv Sena and Shiromani Akali Dal the fate of NDA will soon be tested but the  betrayal of its long time lover will always be entrenched in the minds of BJP .

Afzal Guru - guilty ?

Time and again Religion instead of propagating unity has been dividing people leading to numerous riots and debates . Afzal Guru's execution has lead to a national debate . A country which unlike other states was built on diversity and equality is now struggling for maintaining peace and tranquility . There was a time when Hindus and Muslims were considered brothers of different mothers but the surge of divide and rule created an insurgency and lead to the formation of two different worlds - Pakistan and India . The former is based on faith while the later managed to blend both faith and diversity . 

Omar Abdullah has raised the issue of Kashmiri Muslims being discriminated . He in his argument questioned Indian Government's apprehension in rejecting mercy petitions of people accused of heinous crimes including assassination of Rajiv Gandhi and Punjab chief minister Beant Singh. 

I agree that Afzal Guru is guilty but at the same time it is necessary to get to the roots of the crime. How can a person who had just completed the first year of his MBBS get into terrorism ? The simple answer would be money and the urge to see Kashmir independent . Number of people are brainwashed everyday in the name of Jihad . They are taken to Pakistan and trained only to be sent back to ruin their mother land . 

Oh dear lord i ask for some peace 

for little honey and less grease

men whom i consider my bother are dying of fear

 hatred prevailing , replacing words with spear

Pragaash- We Quit

Once again freedom has been chocked to death with Jammu and Kashmir's first girls band 'Pragaash' deciding to call it quits after fatwa was issued against them . The band consists of three class 10 girls.While issuing a fatwa , the Grand mufti called for women to wear a veil at all times . All these years Indian women have struggled to be recognized but all in vain  . Still girls are asked to throw their talent in trash as their voice , open hair and revealing cloths might invite men to rape them .


 According to the Grand mufti , public performances by women were UN-islamic and obscene . Earlier too the rock band had received threats from extremists following which they decided to give up live performances .The grand Mufti suggested that the girls must limit their talents to their homes and not perform in public . "There would be no difference between our women and film actresses" , he said . 



Omar Abdullah , Chief minister of Jammu & Kashmir reacted strongly , saying , he was with the girls . The opposition People's Democratic Party too backed the girls and demanded protection for the them . Reacting to Opposition's demands Omar Abdullah promised to provide the three girls with full security . 



If it can happen in France , then why not India . Why is that girls are being prevented from pursuing careers of their choice , forced to cover themselves from head to toe , asked not to let their hair open . Whether it is Iran , Iraq , Afghanistan or India , Muslim girls have same story to say. When will they understand that Islam is a pure religion which does not sanction threatening people .

President signs Ordinance on sexual violence

It seems like a breaking news , well it is a breaking news . President of India signed the ordinance on sexual violence . Pranab Mukherjee today gave his concurrence to go ahead with anti-rape law ordinance so as to put check on the crime against women . The President has given his assent to the Criminal Law (Amendment) Ordinance 2013

The ordinance is based on Justice Verma report . The report consists of  630 pages demanding amendments in the Indian Panel Code and introduction of new offenses . The ordinance comes at the backdrop of brutal rape case that occurred in Delhi in December 2012 .
  

  

 The ordinance which is largely based on Justice Verma report lacks teeth to fight sexual crimes against women .  According to the ordinance the minimum punishment will be 20 years in jail which can be extended to the natural life of the convict or death.  The ordinance went a step ahead by providing capital punishment in the cases where rape leads to death of the victim or leave her in a deteriorated state . The women's groups have planned a protest at Jantar Mantar on Monday against the ordinance.
