Time and again Religion instead of propagating unity has been dividing people leading to numerous riots and debates . Afzal Guru's execution has lead to a national debate . A country which unlike other states was built on diversity and equality is now struggling for maintaining peace and tranquility . There was a time when Hindus and Muslims were considered brothers of different mothers but the surge of divide and rule created an insurgency and lead to the formation of two different worlds - Pakistan and India . The former is based on faith while the later managed to blend both faith and diversity .
Omar Abdullah has raised the issue of Kashmiri Muslims being discriminated . He in his argument questioned Indian Government's apprehension in rejecting mercy petitions of people accused of heinous crimes including assassination of Rajiv Gandhi and Punjab chief minister Beant Singh. I agree that Afzal Guru is guilty but at the same time it is necessary to get to the roots of the crime. How can a person who had just completed the first year of his MBBS get into terrorism ? The simple answer would be money and the urge to see Kashmir independent . Number of people are brainwashed everyday in the name of Jihad . They are taken to Pakistan and trained only to be sent back to ruin their mother land .
