Never Ending war in Afghanistan 2014

The power of ballot was established in Afghanistan when the war torn country decided to defy the terror of death and vote for their new President. In the battle of ballot and bullet, the latter has always overridden the former by consolidating the fragile political condition of the country.

Post the withdrawal of Soviet Union in 1989, civil war was unleashed. With NATO forces preparing to leave the country by the end of 2014, many fear that the country might slide into instability and war.

What do you want? Should I kill him? : Mamta Banerjee

What do you want? Should I kill him?

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee described Paul's 'hate speech' as blunder; a blunder that required no action but a dialogue that every Bollywood scriptwriter will vouch for - "What do you want? Should I kill him?"

No Madam Banrejee, how can the helpless common man ask you to commit such a heinous crime? How can he even imagine saying such a thing to his 'didi', who had accused a student on a TV talk show of being a moist, when he dared to ask her what she was doing for the security of women.

Your reaction to the death of a 16 year old rape victim in Kolkata is still afresh in our minds. You accused the media and CPI(M) of "conspiring to impede development work by your government." Oh! The insensitive media.

You asked the local woman, pleading you to punish the rape accused in the Barasat case to "shut up." Well, Madam Banerjee, humanity just died several deaths upon hearing your senseless reaction to a sensitive request. Yet, no hands were raised, lest the hands end up being handcuffed with no logic offered.

The media, which until now was busy searching for the definition of "news pollution", dares to ask you questions. Do you have an answer Madam Banerjee. Well, yes, how did i miss it- "The media is glorifying rape", your classic comment on the increasing rape cases in the city (2012).

Poor '24-year-old' TMC worker was in for a shock when he heard his idol's speech. What was meant to be an inspirational speech turned out to be a warning to mothers and daughters of CPI(M) workers. While Tapas Pal's intention behind the speech was understood, his usage of words insults the very gender that gave him life.

Had it not been for the young TMC worker who handed over the clip to the reporters because of his conscience, the case would have never come into light. It isn't about the speech, the question is till when will women be considered as a tool to quench somebody's desire of revenge.

Madam Banerjee, we do not ask you to kill him, we just demand an action to be taken against a leader of your party for his insensitive comments. An unconditional apology isn't an answer to his undignified statements.
